ICS RV carries out Action at Home: Give talk about Child Abuse to more than 120 Children

After the VSO-ICS programme all volunteers are expected to carry out a home project called action at home to impact what they have learn during their ICS experience in their community.
Recently, one of the ICS return volunteer Olatunji Atanda has just complete his action at home by talking to more than 120 school children in ASA LGA Primary School Afon, Kwara State.

He was supported by Abdulraheem Adam another RV in his community to give the talk and presents stationeries to the children.

The topic was chosen following the research conducted by the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) indicating that approximately one in six boys and one in four girls are sexually abused before the age of 18.

The talk gives insight on what child abuse is and how dangerous child abuse is to the present and future life of the children and how to prevent themselves from been abused by bad people out there.
Also, the medium was used to encourage children to go to school at all times.
One of the children at the school, 7 years old Ajadi Adejoke primary five schoolgirl said she learn so much from the talk and she will like to share it with her friends at home. “I like this lesson and I will tell my friend at home about it”
